A Massachusetts nonprofit has come up with a novel way to keep kids occupied while they're away from school for the February and April vacation weeks.

From Feb.

19 to 25 and April 16 to 23 at the 10,000-square-foot LaunchSpace workshop in Orange, kids can register for any or all of the three $20-per-class sessions, which will include bookbinding, hand-building pottery with an underglaze transfer, and laser-cut jigsaw puzzles, the Sentinel and Enterprise reports.

"The first set of classes, costing $20 apiece, entail bookbinding, hand-building pottery with an underglaze transfer, and laser-cut jigsaw puzzles, though LaunchSpace co-founder Brianna Drohen said the puzzle class is sold out," she writes on the nonprofit's Facebook page.

"The April classes, also $20 each, will consist of laser-cut jigsaw puzzles, screen printing, and two types of classes to be determined," she adds.

"Youth series have always been something that we've wanted to incorporate," says Drohen, who says a homeschool series was held in November.

"And it went really well."

She says the $10,000 grant from the Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts will go toward operations and program development.
